Public Holidays
Public holidays can be organized and managed within Monomize. You can create Public Holiday Groups for different regions or categories (for example, "UK Bank Holidays", "Scotland Bank Holidays", or company-specific holidays). Each group can contain multiple Public Holiday Dates.
Public Holiday Groups
A Public Holiday Group is a collection of holiday dates. Groups allow you to organize holidays based on regions, teams, or custom company-specific policies.
Managing Holiday Dates
A Public Holiday Date is a single calendar date that is recognized as a holiday. Each holiday date can belong to one or more public holiday groups.
Key points:
- You can create a new holiday date and assign it to one or more groups.
- Edit an existing holiday date to change its name or date.
- Delete a holiday date from a group or globally if it is no longer observed.
Typical workflow:
- Create a Public Holiday Group (e.g., "UK Bank Holidays").
- Add Public Holiday Dates to the group (e.g., "25/12/2025 - Christmas Day").
- Assign holiday dates to multiple groups if needed.
- Holidays are automatically considered in payroll calculations and leave management.
Allowance Deduction Rules
When setting a public holiday, you can choose how it affects an employee’s leave allowance:
- Do not count against employee allowance – The holiday does not reduce the employee’s available allowance.
- Reduce allowance by 0.5 – Only half a day is deducted from the employee’s allowance.
- Count against employee allowance – The holiday is fully deducted from the employee’s allowance.
