Leave Policies
Monomize allows you to define flexible leave policies per team, ensuring that entitlements, accruals, and year-end handling are consistent and automated. Key aspects of leave policies include:
Accrual Types
You can configure leave accrual in several ways:
- Does Not Accrue – Leave is manually tracked; balances are not automatically deducted.
- Hourly – Employees accrue leave based on hours worked.
- Fixed – A set number of leave hours are granted at regular intervals (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Based on Regular Working Hours – Annual entitlement is calculated based on the employee's regular contractual hours defined by the associated work schedule.
Year-End and Rollover Handling
Policies define how leave is managed at the end of the leave year:
- Rollover – Unused leave carries over to the next leave year. You can set limits on carryover and expiration dates.
- Reset – Balances reset to zero at the start of the new leave year.
- Pro-Rata – Leave entitlements can be pro-rated for employees joining mid-year or under specific reference dates.
Tenure Rules
Accrual rates can increase based on service milestones. For example: hourly accrual may increase after 4 years, or annual days may grow after 3 years. This rewards long-term employees automatically.
